Final Project:
I have decided to continue with my initial plan about my final project. I will focus on the Palestinian culture and its role in the Palestinian fight and resistance against occupation. First I will define the Palestinian culture and explain more details about the most important features and examples from the culture. I will speak about the Palestinian traditional dresses, popular songs, paintings (Handala) and the Palestinian traditional dance (Dabkeh).
I will speak about Cultural institutions and mainly (Al-Founoun) and then the newly established group in OSU (Art of Freedom). Then, I will discuss the role of culture in the daily lives of the Palestinian people in the present and the importance of preserving it.
Questions for Yonatan Gher:
1. What is the role of the Gay Rights movements in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict?
2. How do you view the reactions of the Palestinian and Israeli societies towards the movement?
I am looking forward to seeing your final project. Since I do not know much about the Palestinian culture, I think I can gain alot from your presentation.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I will be able to cover some parts of the culture. The Palestinian culture is a very interesting one, it shares many similarities with other neighboring countries such as Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. But it has its uniqueness in many cases and is directly associated with the Palestinian struggle.
